Mandatory Tech Week: November 15-18
Performances of Matilda will be
November 19, 21 & 22, 2026
YOUR AUDITION WILL CONSIST OF THREE PARTS
1. A SONG:
You should sing for no more than SIXTY SECONDS. We will stop you after one minute.
-
Choose a song that best shows off your voice.
-
Try to choose a song that is not too low or too high for your vocal range so that you sound your best.
-
Know the lyrics. It does not make a good impression if you arrive at your audition without a song prepared (this is a musical, after all!).
-
Sing with as much expression as possible; and enjoy yourself!
Please note:
-
Your song choice should not be from Matilda, but it should be a song from the world of musical theater, not pop or rock.
-
Your audition song will be a capella. No accompanist will be provided.
2. AN AUDITION SCENE:
Please choose one character in one scene to read at your audition. We don’t care if you trip over some of your words; just make sure you read with expression and character. (See Character Breakdown for details on which scene to choose based on the character that you would like to audition for.)
The scenes to choose from are:
3. AN AUDITION DANCE:
Matilda includes many large-scale dance numbers.
Please learn the short dance audition in this video and be prepared to dance it with a small group at your audition. Our choreographer, Nikki, will demonstrate the dance step-by-step.
If you would like to be considered for the roles of Mrs. Wormwood, Rudolpho, or any of the Ballroom Dancers in “Loud,” you must also learn and perform an extra Ballroom dance audition.
INSTRUCTIONAL DANCE VIDEO COMING SOON! Please check back here.

Our 2026 musical is Matilda: the Musical, the Tony-award-winning musical inspired by the beloved book by Roald Dahl. With a book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. It’s a show packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and unforgettable characters.
We are casting a fully-staged, all female version of Matilda, seeking actresses with acting, singing, and dancing abilities.
Please note: This show requires advanced dancing skills by the majority of the characters.
We welcome women of all backgrounds, ethnicities, body types, or religions.
Actresses of any age are welcome to audition for all roles in this show. The majority of our cast will be ages 16 and over. We may cast only 3-4 girls under age 16.
